Nutrition Made Easy For Busy People

Efficient Fitness for Busy Women – The Happy Menopause Podcast

Season 6 • Episode 1
Cara Metz, Midlife Fitness Expert

September is a good time for new beginnings. If you’re thinking about how to build up your strength and fitness if you’ve let things slide a bit this summer, The Happy Menopause podcast is here to help.  I chat to the brilliant Cara Metz. She’s an absolute testament to the transformative power of healthy living. A dancer from a very early age, she went on to become the Latin American British Open champion and developed a career as an international dancer, coach and teacher.

Following her retirement from professional dancing, she decided to channel her experience and energy into becoming a fitness expert. This led to her trademark approach of short blasts of exercise specifically designed to fit the schedule of the busy midlife woman. Think you don’t have time to exercise? Think again!

Cara is such an inspiration! Her story is fascinating and I’m a big fan of her exercise snacking approach. She takes us through the thinking behind her fitness programmes and why it works so well for midlife women. We discuss the different types of exercise which are important and relevant to women in this stage of life and she shares a few moves for us to try. It’s a really energising episode!

If you’ve enjoyed the podcast, make sure you subscribe so you don’t miss the next episode and please give it a 5 star rating and a short review on Apple podcasts, or whichever platform you listen on, I’d be so grateful. And do tell your friends and family about it too. It really does make a huge difference to the visibility of the podcast, so that more women can find the show. After all, every woman deserves to have a happy menopause.

Biography

Cara Metz is not just an advocate for women’s fitness, she is a living testament to the transformative power of healthy living. As a former Open British Latin American Dance Champion, Cara’s journey in the world of health and fitness began on the dance floor, gracing international stages as a competitor, teacher, and coach. However, it was her personal battle with burnout and an eating disorder that ignited her commitment to wellness.

Retiring from professional dancing in 1996, Cara channelled her energy into fitness instruction. By 2002, she had expanded her expertise to personal training. Her own experiences with perimenopause propelled her to become a certified MenoFit™ instructor, deepening her knowledge in menopause fitness and nutrition.

The Cara Fitness app, born from her desire to support and empower, has become a digital sanctuary for thousands of women seeking guidance and transformation. The app’s philosophy is simple yet powerful: fitness should be accessible, achievable, and adaptable, even with just 15 minutes a day.

Beyond the app, Cara is a dynamic motivational speaker and an authoritative voice in menopause fitness. She regularly engages her substantial social media following and the Cara Fitness community through online workshops, sharing insights and inspiration.

Cara’s career is dedicated to uplifting women at a stage often overlooked by the fitness industry. Her approach is both a beacon of hope and a blueprint for aging gracefully, energetically, and with vitality. Through Cara Fitness, she is not just changing routines; she is changing lives.
